Narrator: The lazy political cartoonist way of handling the questions surrounding Mitch McConnell these days -- is he alive? is he dead? -- is to draw a tortoise, have it say something horrid, and call it a day. Narrator: But often we hear that whatever creature we're using as a stand-in for a Republican doesn't deserve that treatment. So this, this here, this is just a regular tortoise. Narrator: It's pretty interesting, though, isn't it, that you can't tell if it's dead or just sleeping? Like, it's a tortoise. It doesn't move that much. You can't see if it's breathing. Narrator: Anyway, there's no way a tortoise would approve of keeping word of its demise out of the news long enough to prevent the governor from appointing its replacement.
