Badger: Hello, White House? Thanks to your deregulating everything in sight and firing hundreds of people at the FDA, we have salmonella in our sprouts and eggs, botulism in our baby formula, E. Coli in our blueberries, cyclospora in our lettuce, listeria in our soup... Badger: ...metal in our pizza, glass in our ice pops, and screwworm in our beef. And your solution to all this is to drop tariffs on imports of ground meat from Argentina? Is that right? Badger: Which chapter in Project 2025 is on failing to solve problems you caused by exempting things from other problems you caused?

Project 2025 laid out all the plans to wreck the American food safety system and the Trump regime has been following that blueprint, with predictable results: multiple food recalls for biological and mechanical contamination including glass in frozen fruit bars. The regime's attempt to prevent anyone from noticing all this is to try to lower beef prices by an infinitesimal amount in the hopes that maybe slightly cheaper ground beef will help the Republicans in the midterms. Or something. (By the way, there's no evidence Argentinian beef is contaminated, at least any more than American beef is.)

Or maybe there is no strategy, no rhyme or reason, and the whole thing is just stuff Trump's staff is doing to keep themselves busy until the graft checks clear.
