I remember the first time the United States government appointed a "czar" of anything. (Okay, according to Wikipedia's entry on this the term has been in use for much longer than I've been alive.) A number of commentators observed that anyone in American government being described as a czar was a bad sign. Not too long after that someone decided to create the Department of Homeland Security, and that, too, was a bad look, because the United States had never been a Homeland, or a Fatherland, or Mother, for that matter; that's the kind of thing you get from commies and Nazis, not free individuals. It took a few decades but we've finally reached the apotheosis of the American czar, Tom Homan, whose really and truly official title is White House Border Czar, and of course he's mind-bogglingly corrupt.

What never ceases to amaze me, too, is the breadth of Trump regime corruption. It's as enormous as a billion dollars in crypto schemes and as petty as $50,000 for government contracts. They'll accept a dinner invite or a whole frickin airplane. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that somewhere in the White House there's a guy getting monogrammed pencils in exchange for F-22 Raptor plans.

The point here is, though, that there are so damn many scandals.
