What The Fuck, America?

NEW COMIC TWO OR THREE TIMES A WEEK, OR WHEN THE MOOD STRIKES

Mayor Pete's out here saying, regarding all, like, twelve trans athletes in the country, "these decisions should be in the hands of sports leagues and school boards and not politicians", which is a variation of the right's "let the states decide" approach and is not in good faith. It's a recipe for oppression. Pete is equivocating because he doesn't want to alienate the mythical swing voter, but standing up for trans athletes shouldn't be difficult. Reject the right's framing of this and simply state the truth: This affects a vanishingly small number of people and we as a party stand for INCLUSIVITY and ACCEPTANCE. Maybe if Dems got up and said "This is what we stand for, unequivocally and unreservedly," like maybe then they'd actually be leading instead of following and people would vote for them. It'd be a miracle!

At the same time soulless ghoul Rahm Emanuel is showing up in op-eds for the quisling Washington Post suggesting Democrats rethink some of the party orthodoxy while asshole-in-training Rep. Seth Moulton says "we are not listening to the concerns of the majority of Americans", completely ignoring the fact that a) what the majority of Americans think is contested, b) what the majority thinks about the human rights of any given minority is beside the point, and c) what the majority thinks has been largely steered by right-wing messaging and propaganda unimpeded by the Democratic Party. But hey, let's jump aboard the fascism train, see if we can get elected as Mussolini But Less So!

I really hope the future of the Democratic Party is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Zohran Mamdani, and Kat Abughazaleh, and not more of these craven bootlickers.
