Tanuki: Then they got sandbagged by two assholes who should never have so much power! Fox: Ukraine is gonna lose and it's gonna lose reasonably soon. Tanuki: You've been saying that since 2022. Fox: It's hard for me to believe the Ukrainians can hang on against the Putin-Trump-Musk Axis.

Fox's quotes here come (with minor alterations) from John Mearshimer, general conservative fuckwad, who is vying for the title of Most Incorrect Man On Earth. He's been gleefully predicting the subjugation of Ukraine for over three years now, and yet Ukraine is still standing.

The fact that the richest man in the world and the current occupant of the White House have both openly come out in support of Vladimir Putin and his war of aggression is absolutely monumental. It's incredibly stupid, short-sighted, immoral -- just obviously evil in a way so few political acts are. It endangers Ukrainians directly, of course, and the entire world only slightly less directly. Germany understands. But even if Ukraine manages without Starlink/Starshield so much damage has been done simply by making American promises empty ones. A lot of world stability is based on the predictability of the United States, and without that, many things become much worse. Free trade, for example, is maintained, at bottom, by the U.S. Navy. Even if Whiskey Pete and Trump weren't weakening our military through poor planning and neglect the basic loss of trust will have enormous consequences. And don't forget that We The People elected Trump. Twice. The rest of the world certainly won't.
