Tanuki: The White House is putting out campaign ads paid for by taxpayers. Fox: Trump's not running in November. They're not campaign ads. Tanuki: They literally contain clips taken from Trump's 2024 campaign ads. Fox: They're just reminding Americans of all the great things Trump has done for the country. Tanuki: We're not even discussing the lies yet! Fox: That's a lawsuit.

The Trump regime paid nearly a million dollars to air propaganda ads ahead of the midterm elections. This is, of course, wildly illegal. And, of course, nothing will be done, because the words "that's illegal!" are now empty air which serve only to mark the utterer as a believer in fairy tales. Might as well claim to be a mermaid who grants wishes to flying pigs.

All this is quite apart from the absolute insanity of the content of the propaganda ads: A chorus of singers who hopefully got paid up front burble "Love me!" (although it seems as if JMSN is pissed) while a Trump voiceover declaims on defeating "communism, socialism, and Marxism in America", which is kind of hilarious given the state of the so-called left these days, and states that "America will never be a communist country", which, like, yes, no countries are communist any more, and then a bunch of outright fabrications flash on the screen, like "largest tax cuts in history" and so on. (That's a fun one because it's a double lie: First, the Big Beautiful Bill is not the largest tax cut in history, period, but also, it's not really cutting taxes for most people.)

Anyway I'm sure this is all perfectly normal and Congress will, of course, take perfectly normal actions in response.
