Cat: Hell yeah, we're getting rid of the First Amendment. Dog: I was getting tired of coming up with things to say anyhow. Poster: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Cat: Four, Five, Eight, and Nine are pretty much dead, too. Dog: Due process and jury trials are definitely overrated, and I love cruel and unusual punishment. I'm not, I'm not a lawyer. I don't know. Cat: We love the U.S. Constitution! Dog: Are we also eliminating the Second Amendment? Cat: Oh no, we're keeping that one. No shame if you need it: here's a refresher on the Bill of Rights, at least as long as the government allows it to be online. We're conversant with the First, Second, and Fifth Amendments. Most of us probably have an idea of the Fourth. After that things get hazy, even if you watch a lot of Law & Order. So go remind yourself!

Now forget all of it because none of it matters any more! The Supreme Court has been basically gutting every amendment to the U.S. Constitution, not just the first ten, but only recently has it really taken aim at Five and Six. Now the Attorney General of the US is threatening people with the full force of government for her definition of "hate speech", which is apparently not liking Charlie Kirk sufficiently, while the head of the executive, who swore an oath to defend the Constitution, has said in interviews he doesn't know if every person has the right to due process. And people across the country are being fired for their speech.

Good thing this cartooning gig pays nothing, I guess.
