Fisher: And right after that Trump ordered the attacks on Iran, which predictably raised oil prices. Raccoon: It's some kind of crazy coincidence that the U.S. isn't kidnapping leaders from places without interesting resources. Fisher: Meanwhile no one is saying where all this money is going.... Raccoon: Eh, $13 billion is small change. It's not even enough for two weeks of the Iran War "Overseas Operations".

The Financial Times estimates the U.S. has "collected" $13 billion from selling Venezuelan oil, which statement alone should give you pause. The U.S. is selling? Whose oil? Why do we get that money? Trump, of course, won't answer any straightforward questions about this. Props to the reporter who pressed for a response multiple times. It is curious, isn't it, that immediately following his piratical plundering of Venezuela's petroleum, Trump started combat operations against Iran, knowing full well -- one would hope -- that oil prices were going to go up as a result. Still, the Venezuela money isn't that much -- even at inflated oil prices -- compared to how much the Overseas Operations are costing us.
