When's the last time New York City didn't have a fucking dipshit for mayor? Ed Koch? Gotta say this is making me wonder about him, too. (I was 19 when he left office and didn't pay any attention to politics, especially New York politics, because I was leaving the New York City metropolitan area for good, which never happened because gravitationally I'm stuck here.) What a series of colossal asswipes my hometown has been through over the past thirty years. No wonder the United States is such a frickin' disaster, if the greatest city in the world can't elect a competent, decent human being.

Anyway the whole Trump-Eric Adams thing is super duper no-backsies corrupt, like pure garden variety banana republic corruption, and of course Republicans are super duper okay with it.
