Tanuki: Plainclothes agents are grabbing legal residents off the streets without warrants, without cause. Fox: Obviously these miscreants created a ruckus. Tanuki: I'm gonna say it's un-American to jail and/or deport people for their opinions, even though the U.S. has been doing it for a long time. Fox: Obviously these miscreants are terrorists. They shouldn't come here if they want to criticize the government. Tanuki: Is this fascism yet? Fox: Not for me.

ICE is happily detaining anyone they feel like, including legal residents, students, and tourists. Republicans are pretending all of these people are misbehaving in some way, without any of them noting that misbehaving is protected by the Constitution.

This is bad enough but the methods being used are just that extra level of evil we've come to expect from Trumpian measures: Agents showing up in plain clothes, refusing to answer questions, wearing masks, carting people off to who knows where, and then transferring them as quickly as possible to distant facilities in Lousiana to guarantee a friendly jurisdiction for their bullshit. Because when they do get in front of a judge, the judge gets angry.
