Doge: So the Department Of Government Efficiency shut down eight months early. Doge: Now DOGE can become what it was always going to be: An obscure reference in a history textbook, a brief era of utter destruction forgotten, like the Brooks Brothers Riot or the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association Riot, only somehow official. Doge: And just like other terrible events with bad long-range consequences, no one will be held responsible. That's America, baby!

We're never going to hear the end of the Black Lives Matter protests or the Rodney King riots, but somehow you hardly ever hear about the Brooks Brothers Riot or the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association Riot. When people of color get righteously angry, that's an excuse for white people to double down. But when white people wreck things for generations -- getting George W. Bush appointed or Rudy Giuliani elected -- everyone forgets it ever happened and no one is punished. Except for all the people injured one way or another in the aftermath.

The latest exhibit is the intra-governmental riot Department of Government Efficiency [sic], which cost a huge amount of money, lied about absolutely everything it was doing, and wrecked multiple U.S. government agencies, including U.S.A.I.D., which is on course to cause the deaths of hundreds of thousands if not millions of people worldwide. Guaranteed no one will ever even be mildly inconvenienced for their role in this disaster. American exceptionalism at its finest!
