If only Richard Nixon had been held truly accountable. Gerald Ford reportedly walked around with a card in his wallet reading "Acceptance of a pardon is admission of guilt", except it seems to me Ford didn't ever accept his own guilt. If only Reagan had been held accountable. Ollie North took the fall for Iran-Contra but even that barely held him back; of course his conviction was overturned on appeal. Maybe the Democrats could have held Bill Clinton to account for sexual harassment, if not outright rape, but they didn't. Then Obama decided not to even attempt to go after the war criminals in the Bush administration, and following in his footsteps Biden slow-walked anything regarding Trump, and here we are, with more malfeasance, incompetence, treason, and corruption out in the open, and still no one will ever be held accountable. All these assholes will retire to their well-feathered nests and live out their lives in comfort, giving talks and receiving accolades, showing up on TV now and again to opine, until they die peacefully at 101 or some shit, see also Henry Kissinger.
