I can't pretend to know why Karoline Leavitt is resigning as White House press secretary. I do know a lot of people are speculating and thinking this shows that MAGA is splintering as Trump's popularity somehow drops even lower amid high gas prices, empty supermarket shelves, and a disastrous war of choice. Or it could be she realized Trump doesn't give a crap about her. Or maybe she just wants to spend time with her new baby. Or -- this is my guess -- she put in her time doing a difficult job and is ready to join the great big right-wing retirement circuit where she can get paid a lot more for doing a lot less and with much less agita. Making more money while not having one's name in the news every fucking day sounds sweet.
