What The Fuck, America?

NEW COMIC TWO OR THREE TIMES A WEEK, OR WHEN THE MOOD STRIKES

The stock market, upon hearing that the Boner Boner Bill passed the House, fell some more, the slide being the worst since, well, last month, when it also collapsed, so now we're below being below. Things are going well!

Back in 2021, House Republicans, including Lauren Boebert, extruded something called the One Subject at a Time Act, which would have required each bill in Congress to deal with one and only one subject, instead of legislators tacking on unrelated items to existing legislation in attempt to either sneak stuff in or poison pill bills they don't like. Evidently no one liked that idea and now the GOP has swung the other way, wrapping up all the possible legislation into one bill, which they've slavishly called after Trump's stupidest possible name.

The Bullshit Bullshit Bill contains provisions for preventing federal courts from enforcing contempt citations; while this might not matter much for new cases (judges can easily get around it by requiring $1 bail) it seems tailored to shield the Trump administration from contempt for all the judicial orders it's ignored thus far. So that's nice.

Also, for the party of personal responsibility and liberty, the GOP sure has issues with gender-affirming care. Like, it should be my choice to get vaccinated against deadly diseases and not wear a mask in public (unless, of course, I'm an ICE officer), but if I want to get my testicles removed, well, that's not allowed. Not even if I pay for my very own insurance policy!

And finally, there's the ultimate hypocrisy under all of this, which is that when Democrats want to, say, expand the Child Tax Credit, the question is, HOW CAN WE POSSIBLY AFFORD THAT, but when the Republicans want tax breaks for billionaires, what's another $3.8 trillion?
