As of this writing, South Korea's Ministry of Justice has placed a travel ban on President Yoon Suk-yeol after his failed autogolpe. Looks like they're not letting him get away while they investigate his potentially criminal behavior. So that's how democracy is supposed to work! Huh, coulda fooled me.

Meanwhile in Syria the long bloody fight to oust dictator Bashar al-Assad was finally successful, with him jetting off to Russia. You'd think he wouldn't trust them since it's their being distracted with Ukraine that aided the rebels in his ouster, but I guess Russia is safer than Syria for him right now.

Why are these salient points for Americans today? Gee, I dunno.
